Ashleigh Christian



Ashleigh Gabrelle Christian is a dance choreographer, performer, and educator from Odessa, Texas. She began dancing in public school dance classes and teams, and decided from there to make dance and the arts her career. In 2010 she began dance performance and choreography training at Texas Woman’s University in Denton Texas, where she received a B.A. in Dance Studies, an Education minor, and was awarded accolades for Outstanding Undergraduate Student and Performer of the Year from the TWU Department of Dance. While at TWU, Ashleigh studied Modern, Contact-Improvisation technique, Ballet, Hip-Hop and Cultural dance styles, performance and choreography, as well as various dance theories and somatic practices. Additional training includes time spent at several workshops and intensives including “Pulse” and “Streetz” dance conventions, Texas Dance Improvisation Festival, American Dance
Festival, and the American College Dance Association. She has also performed professionally in the state with companies such as Wrkn’ Progress Hip-Hop Crew, The Jordan Fuchs Company (modern), and Zion Dance Project (modern/contemporary).


As an educator, Ashleigh holds a teaching certification with the state of Texas, with specific certifications in Dance (8-12) and Physical Education (EC-12). With these certifications, she has taught high school dance and was the assistant director of the Odessa High Showgirls Dance Team for the last six years, who went on to win overall National Champions from 2018 to 2022. She has also choreographed several solo and small ensemble competition routines, as well as officer and team routines for high school and middle school dance teams in the Odessa/Midland and DFW areas.

Most recently, Ashleigh has returned to the Dallas area and holds positions as office admin, hip-hop instructor and dance fitness instructor at Centre for Dance studio and DivaDance Irving/Grapevine. She is also enrolled in the Residency program with Zion Dance Project and the UpperRoom School of Ministry where she will further her professional work in Ballet, Modern, and Contemporary technique, and will begin studying biblical foundations of worship arts and sacred dance.
