Robert "Slim" Hernandez
Robert 'Slim' Hernandez was born and raised in Dallas, TX and has been teaching and choreographing hip hop since he was 13 years old. He began creating full sets of choreography and performances for competitions during his time directing his local hip hop dance crew that traveled and performed across Texas. The crew showcased and competed with his choreography at highly recognized events such as Best of TX, Battle of the Best, World of Dance Tour, and the nationally televised talent search “Tengo Talento”. After his time with FLS he became one of the members and choreographers of the award winning Renegades Elite Company and later went on to dance on the first and only coed hip hop team of the NFL, The Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue. While dancing for the Dallas Cowboys organization he was given the opportunity to choreograph several pieces for the group and was awarded Performer of the Year in 2015.
Slim’s intricate and unique style of choreography has received first place recognition and awards at competitions such as Starpower, Showstopper, Cheer America and numerous others. In 2015 he was part of the instructor line up for the Dallas Hip Hop Dance Festival alongside other acclaimed choreographers such as Sean Bankhead, Lisette Bustamante, Chonique Sneed and Jenny Smith. Due to his distinct use of musicality and hip hop technique he was invited to be one of the NDA Curriculum Hip Hop Choreographers for 2015 and 2016.
Besides teaching and choreographing all over the DFW Metroplex at various dance events, studios, and master classes he also takes time to continue to grow in his art form.
