Chloe Scout Nix
Chloe Scout Nix is an artist, dance instructor, photographer, and performer based in
Dallas TX. She graduated from Southern Methodist University with her BFA in
photography and visual arts, with a minor in Art History. Best known for her tap
dance skills, Chloe has studied with Keira Leverton, Lane Alexander, Buster Cooper,
Barbary Duffy, Jason Janas, Tasha Lawson, Barbara Phillips, Derrick Grant, Michelle
Dorrence, Anthony Morigerato, among others. She is best known for her unique ways
of performance and her fusion of different styles and genres of dance. She believes in
spreading the joy and knowledge of tap dance and is constantly pushing herself and
her students to create new ways of performing.
She began teaching in 2010, and has
received many awards for her original choreographing style. She is currently teaching
and choreographing for the Choreo Records Youth Tap Ensemble, and is also a
member of the Choreo Records Adult Tap Ensemble which performs around the
Dallas area. Her visual/conceptual artwork focuses on body and movement, using
different photography techniques and materials to create images with multiple layers.
Receiving awards and grants for her unique outlook on the human body, Chloe’s
photographs have been showcased at 500x Gallery, Deep Vellum Books, Pollock
Gallery and Parriah.
