Q: If I also participate in other activities such as cheer, drill team, track, or soccer, can I be on a Centre for Dance Company?

A: Absolutely! As long as your other activities do not conflict with your Company mandatory classes or rehearsals, dancers are able to participate in other activities. Once we finalize all details in the summer, we will provide a mandatory class schedule for each team and level. Dancers must be able to commit to the schedule as designed and may not substitute other classes due to scheduling conflicts with other activities. In the past recent years we have been more flexible with dancers’ other activities. However, in the new season, especially for our advanced company, we are going to be a bit more strict in assuring dancers are following our guidelines and more present for their classes and rehearsals.

Q: What is the Pre-Professinal Company?

A: This level Company is an insight into the professional company world. It is very different than our regular Novice, Intermediate & Advanced Companies. This is not a competitive based team. There are no auditions, and members are placed by invitation only. The best way to start the process is to attend a Pre-Professional technique and choreography class and express your interest to the instructor. Dancers interested must have the maturity and ability to speak to the director themselves and manage their own schedules. All communication will be between the director and dancers themselves. Most dancers in this program will have a primary focus in dance and not other activities due to the level of dedication required.
