CREATIVE MOVEMENT
Song and dance provide our tiny aspiring dancers with development in coordination, listening skills and musicality while engaging their imagination. In this class, dancers engage in sing-song and dance with the use of music and props to blossom imaginations. This class is designed for those students to attend on their own. Parents are asked to wait in the lobby in case their child needs them.
Girls’ attire -- dance attire or comfortable clothing with pink ballet shoes.
Boys’ attire -- comfortable clothing with black ballet shoes.
PRESCHOOL BALLET & TAP
This class serves as an introduction to dance. Children will receive the basic instruction necessary to a good dance foundation focusing on ballet and tap. Some days we may work on tumbling skills to help with balance and coordination, and as the class progresses, we may introduce jazz.
Girls’ attire -- any style/color dance attire, tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes with tap ties or elastic.
Boys’ attire -- comfortable clothing, black ballet shoes and black tap shoes.
ELEMENTARY BALLET & TAP
This class serves as an introduction to dance. Children will receive the basic instruction necessary to a good dance foundation focusing on ballet and tap. Some days we may work on tumbling skills to help with balance and coordination, and as the class progresses, we may introduce jazz.
Girls’ attire -- any style/color dance attire, tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes with tap ties or elastic.
Boys’ attire -- comfortable clothing, black ballet shoes and black tap shoes.
ELEMENTARY JAZZ
This is a fun up-beat class where students learn stylized jazz steps and lyrical. Each style, and fusion of the two are taught for an expressive form of dance where the emotional story within the song is told. Isolation of movement and control are also taught, along with turns and leaps.
Girls’ attire -- Fitted tank or sports bra, dance shorts, leggings or fitted capri, hair pulled back out of face. Tan jazz shoes required.
Boys’ attire -- Comfortable clothing. Black jazz shoes required.
ELEMENTARY CHEER DANCE
This class includes cheers, chants, and cheer-based hip hop. Learn and develop the basics of beginner level movements, such as jumps, rolls, and tumbling.
Dance portion of class includes high-energy movements to trendy music.
Girls’ attire -- Fitted tank or sports bra, dance shorts, leggings or fitted capri, hair pulled back out of face. Sneakers required.
Boys’ attire -- Comfortable clothing. Sneakers required.
BALLET / POINTE
Students are encouraged to study ballet first and/or along with other forms of dance, as it is the foundation to all dance. A highly technical form of dance with a French based vocabulary, ballet focuses on proper training, body placement and discipline, grace and poise. CFD practices American ballet and Vaganova methods.

Girls’ attire -- Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair secured in bun.
Boys’ attire -- Black dance pants, fitted white t-shirt, black ballet shoes.
PRE-POINTE
This class is designed for dancers with the goal of going on pointe. Instructors will focus on dancers to further develop and strengthen muscles necessary to go en pointe, stressing correct alignment and correct technique.
Dancers must have at least one year of prior ballet training and must also take an additional ballet class along with the Pre-Pointe class. Dancers in Pre-Pointe are evaluated in class and instructors may recommend Pointe once dancers are at least 11½ years old.
Girls’ attire -- Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair secured in bun.
Boys’ attire -- Black dance pants, fitted white t-shirt, black ballet shoes.
LYRICAL & CONTEMPORARY
COMPANY AUDITIONS
Each genre explored in this class, or a fusion of the two styles. Combine ballet and jazz for an expressive form of dance where the emotional story within the song is told. Isolation of movement and control are also taught, along with turns and leaps.
Girls’ attire -- Fitted tank or sports bra, dance shorts, leggings or fitted capri, hair pulled out of face. Tan half soles, footundeez, or bearpaws recommended.
Boys’ attire -- Comfortable clothing. Barefoot, half soles, footundeez, or bearpaws.
JAZZ & MUSICAL THEATER
This is a fun up-beat class where students learn stylized jazz steps and technique that are true to the most popular forms out there. This class will focus mainly on dance combos with leaps and turns, work on facials and performance, and class is set to energetic music or show tunes.
Girls’ attire -- Fitted tank or sports bra, dance shorts, leggings or fitted capri, hair pulled out of face. Tan jazz shoes required.
Boys’ attire -- Comfortable clothing. Black jazz shoes required.
EMOTE
Focus on emoting (expressing) from the inside out through facials and body presence in this performance-based class. Learn techniques and exercises that inspire creative artistry on any platform. Step out of your comfort zone and own your performance!

Girls' attire -- Fitted tank or sports bra, dance shorts, leggings, and sneakers.
Boys’ attire -- Comfortable clothing, and sneakers.
MODERN
Focusing on Horton Technique, emphasizing a whole body, anatomical approach to dance that includes flexibility, strength, coordination and body and spatial awareness to enable unrestricted, dramatic freedom of expression.
Attire: Fitted tank or sports bra, dance shorts, leggings or fitted capri, hair pulled out of face. Bare feet are acceptable.

Attire for all students -- Gym clothes with jazz shoes, foot undies or bare feet acceptable.
HIP HOP
A class that teaches a very popular version of street dancing featured in music videos and by their favorite performers. This genre teaches endurance, power and coordination.

Attire for all students -- Tennis shoes or combat style boots required, sweatpants, t-shirt, baggy pants. No jeans, skirts, skorts, shorts or crop tops.

**Preschool Hip Hop 3-4 years old can wear shorts**
TECHNIQUE
This class is designed to help students with their flexibility, turns, and leaps required in technique classes. The focus on stretching increases a dancer's flexibility to enhance proper technique, as well as the additional training and focus on turns, leaps and tricks. You must take a ballet, jazz, musical theater, lyrical/contemporary, in conjunction with this class.

DANCE ACRO
Special class combining classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements.

Girls’ attire -- Fitted tank or sports bra, dance shorts, leggings or fitted capri, hair pulled out of face. No shoes.
Boys’ attire -- Comfortable clothing. No shoes.
TAP
JAZZ FUNK
Jazz Funk is one of the youngest and commercially successful dance styles worldwide. It is a blended style of dance that does not require classical training. Jazz Funk is best suited for those who wish to dance in a style similar to video clips. It is high energy, funky, and always sassy.
Attire for all students -- Sneakers required, comfortable clothes such as leggings, t-shirt, or sweats.
DRILL TEAM PREP
This class is a condensed version of Drill Team Stretch & Style, and Drill Team Kicks & Tricks. Dancers will learn proper stretching techniques, drill team styled combos and choreography, leaps, tricks, and kicks.
Attire for all students -- Dance top or fitted shirt, fitted shorts or jazz pants, jazz shoes, hair pulled out of face. Jazz shoes or drill team boots.
PRE-PROFESSIONAL CLASSES
Pre-Professional classes offer advanced training opportunities for dancers 12 & up with desire to dance professionally after high school. Classes in our Pre-Professional track include Conditioning & Technique, Jazz & Musical Theater, and Lyrical & Contemporary. Dancers taking these classes are strongly encouraged to register for all 3 classes in addition to ballet and other technique based classes. These classes require instructor approval and require a strong dance technique foundation, ability to pick up choreography quickly, understand dance vocabulary at the advanced levels and physcially able to handle advanced movements.

***Dancers are required to bring a yoga block, Theraband and ankle weights (1.5-2#) for the Conditioning & Technique class.***
