Susan Johnson Armijo

 

Susan Armijo is the Owner and Director of Centre for Dance, proudly leading the studio for the past 16 years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Texas, where she studied Marketing and Advertising. Before returning to the dance world, Susan built a successful career in marketing and advertising—experience that now fuels her passion for creative programming, high-quality training, and exceptional customer experience at Centre for Dance.

 

Susan began dancing at just 18 months old and has trained in a wide range of styles including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Country, and Salsa. Her performance background also extends to competitive gymnastics, color guard, winter guard, and cheer/drill team, along with 11 years of clarinet and two decades of softball. Susan previously directed the award-winning North Garland High School Color Guards and Winter Guards for three years while guest teaching for numerous high school programs and dance teams across the metroplex. She later served as Studio Manager and instructor for Dallas Power House of Dance and played a key role in the opening of Power House of Dance Frisco, working for more than six years under the leadership of Shella Sattler.

 

In addition to studio leadership, Susan is a Mastery Level Member of the Dance Studio Owners Association, continuously investing in mentorship, leadership, and business growth within the dance industry. She has served as a judge for numerous professional and semi-professional organizations, including the Allen Americans Ice Angels, Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blue Dancers, various IFL and NAHL dance teams, and talent shows and pageants throughout Texas. For the past several years, she has also been a special guest judge for the Dallas Mavericks D-Town Crew.

 

Susan is known for building a positive, inclusive, and family-centered studio culture. Under her leadership, Centre for Dance has continued to grow year after year, offering exceptional training while fostering confidence, teamwork, and a love of dance in every student.
